Her tiny hometown
keeps getting smaller
Blame rural brain-drain
beer, God, outmigration.
Leaving folks who know
lingering with answers
to Life’s greatest questions.
So, you can imagine
their confusion—
A recurring occurrence
To the one question that lingers
in the absence of her visits:
