Paul Tristram is a Welsh writer who has poems, short stories and flash fiction in many publications around the world. He yearns to tattoo porcelain bridesmaids instead of digging empty graves for innocence at midnight; this too may pass, yet. His novel “Crazy Like Emotion”, collection of shorter fiction “Kicking Back Drunk ‘Round The Candletree Graves”, full-length poetry collections “The Dark Side Of British Poetry”, "It Is Big & It Is Clever", “South Wales Outlaw” and “Uncivil Disobedience Is My Forte” are all available by Close To The Bone Publishing.
Comeback’s An Understatement
So ‘Poignant’
… finding
yourself
inside
of… ‘Loss’.
Spring’ll
always
re-take
Crown
& Throne
from
Winter.
Footsteps
regain
steadiness
after a fall,
gradually
at first
… and,
you will
remain
(eternally)
thankful…
that you
persevered.
Refusing
to stay
stuck
… saved
you from
despondency
… and
your 8
of Pentacles
attitude…
brought
along
Wisdom
to couple
this ‘Victory’.
Approach
… oh, but I only mentioned
‘as warm and toasty
as a hibernating
dormouse’s armpit’
… to crack the ice,
and change direction
away from her questions.
We should always be alone
when ‘THIS’ happens
… come yuh, quick!
Looking at you squarely,
sends me spinning in circles
… and every provision
I have prepared and ready
… disintegrates into nothing
as soon as you… Appear.
Clairvoyants (plural)
told me about you…
in St Austell, St Day,
Looe, Plymouth, Las Vegas,
and the Swansea Valleys…
and, still, I was unprepared,
for your monumental Impact!
The Xylophone Stairs… Away From You
You Taught me
that I’m Wiser than you.
Be thankful
of every Goodbye
… the good ones
always Return
back to your Heart
… the others
are just memory landfill.
When you Conquer
being ‘ALONE’
no one will ever have
‘Power’ over you again.
The word “No”
is a honing missile
when used correctly
… is never ‘Rude’
no matter the complaints
… and has absolutely
no Karma attached to it.
I like her too
… she’s groWN inside
and (Finally) become
much more Real.
